Alabama's $6.7M Water System Upgrade to Bring 450 New Jobs

GOOD NEWS - Water and jobs are on the way : Access to a reliable water system is essential for the recruitment of industry as well as sanitary conditions for existing residents. Through a partnership between the State of Alabama, ARC, and Warrior Met Coal, $6.7 million in grant funding and matches will be used to construct a connection from the Parrish Water System to the Oakman Water System, which will provide an adequate water supply to the Warrior Met Coal site and surrounding communities. Over the next 5 years, Warrior Met Coal plans to invest approximately $650-$700 million to develop the Blue Creek mine near Brandon School Road and AL Hwy 69. The project will create approximately 450 jobs around Walker, Fayette, and Tuscaloosa counties, with coal shipped worldwide. #Our67
